Frequent asking questions

What is your satisfaction guarantee?

You have 24-hours to notify us of areas within your home that cleaning was missed or not cleaned satisfactorily.

Upon notice, we will make arrangements with you have to have another team come to your location to re-clean the areas with 24-48 hours. You satisfaction is our number one priority.

Do I have to home for the cleaning?

No, just leave us a key to gain entry, any additional instructions and we’ll handle the rest.

Why do you ask if I have pets?

We ask this so that we can send a pet friendly team to your home. Some of our team members have pet dander allergies.

Do I have to contact you to book an appointment?

No, you do not. We offer the convenience of online booking for one-time cleaning. We also have an automated scheduling system to cater to your reoccurring appointments.

Do you clean up after pets?

We do not clean up pet or human waste, blood or bodily fluids. These three are hazardous conditions for our cleaners and we will respectfully decline.

What does it cost to clean my homes?

Our flat rate pricing is based on a standard room size.  If you have a specialized cleaning request, we can tailor packages to cater to your cleaning needs. Contact us at 917-615-3374 and we can help you determine which package is right for you.

What can I expect from a basic/general clean?

Our basic package is very detailed and includes the following.   

Detailed dusting, baseboards, under and behind all furniture, all surface areas in the kitchen, linen change, disinfecting bathrooms (including shower walls, faucets and all surface areas) and concentration is always on floors.

How long will my cleaning take?

We estimate 1 hour per bedroom, but we do not specify a time for the length of the cleaning. There are no time restrictions for flat rate packages, and the cleaners will not leave until the job is done.   For extra messy homes or homes that require more attention we may need to switch from flat rate to an hourly package, with your approval. 

What can I expect from a move-in/out cleaning?

These cleanings are designed to prepare the home for a new tenant. The cleaning is a deeper more intensive clean which includes inside cabinets, drawers, closets, baseboards, light switches, outlets, all appliances and interior windows.

What are your hours of operation?

We work 7 days a week. We start our first job at 8:00 a.m. and start our last job at 4:00 p.m.

What if something is broken or damaged during the cleaning?

Cleaners are instructed to notify us immediately. If you notice something damaged or broken, there’s a 24-window to let us know. We can then work to find a solution.

Who provides the supplies?

We bring all our own cleaning supplies. If there are supplies that you would prefer us to use (for wood floors for example) feel free to let us know and we can use any supplies you leave out for us. You provide the step ladder and trash bags.

Are you insured?

Yes, we are insured and bonded. For your peace of mind and and ours, all of our team members have cleared thorough background checks.

Do you provide Green Cleaning?

Sterling Maids NYC has adopted a fully green program.   For those hard to remove stains, greasy kitchens or tough bathrooms please notify us at the time of booking.   We can  offer tougher, chemical based products.

Do I need to provide any supplies?

Typically, cleaners bring all of their supplies. You can feel free to leave specific cleaning products you would rather have us use.

The only supplies we ask that you provide are trash bags and a stepladder (with no more that 3 steps or rungs).

How easy is it to book online?

It really takes no more than 60 seconds once you’ve determined the correct package for you. Simply fill out the booking form here: http://www.sterlingmaidsnyc.com/book/ and we’ll be in touch to confirm your date and time in less than 30 minutes (during business hours). You can create an email and password so that you may be able to login and make changes to your booking.   You can also pay instantly with a credit card.

Can I leave a key with the cleaners or concierge?

Yes, you can leave the keys, but we ask if there is a specific time or time frame in which you’d like the team to come to your home. We always accommodate your schedule and for any recurring cleaning jobs you are never locked into specific times.

How will I know what time to choose?

You may choose anytime between 8:00am and 4:00 pm, based on schedule availability.   We will be in touch in less than 30 minutes (during business hours) to confirm if this date and time works.   If you need immediate assistance you may contact us at 917-615-3374.
